Group Counseling and Parenting
Groups run for eight-weeks (8) and include comprehensive assessments and court reports. The following are group components that P.O.C.S. can offer to your clients: Assessment for substance abuse, substance abuse counseling, relapse prevention counseling, domestic abuse counseling, self esteem groups, stress management groups, anger management groups, grief and loss, job readiness, budgeting, resume writing, assessment of parenting skills, psychological evaluations and much more.
Anger Management
Learn what triggers anger, learn new ways to control anger and learn new ways of coping with stress in regards to parenting.
Discipline
Explore the differences between punishment and discipline. Learn reward systems, how saying less means more, effective use of time-outs, and much more.
Communication
Learn different communication styles and affects children and families. Learn effective ways to speak with children and how to set effective boundaries with children.
Self Esteem
Learn hundreds of ways to build self-esteem in children and parents. Learn activities and communication skills that help to build self esteem in children and families.
Job Readiness
Learn how to fill out an application, type resumes and cover letters, learn effective interview styles and what questions can be expected, along with how to write the thank you note. Learn how employment affects a family.
Budgeting
Learn how to effectively budget money and pay bills on time. Lea4rn how and why it is important to save money and think in terms of their children's future.
Substance Abuse
Learn how substance abuse can affect a family and specifically the children. Learn appropriate coping skills and find resources to gain help and insight with substance problems.
Graduation
An overview of all classes are discussed which includes the useful ways participants have incorporated the skills learned in class into their lives and families. A certificate of successful completion is given to each parent.
